How Danny’s Pizzeria Got Started
Founder of Danny's Pizzeria: Durante also known as “Danny” Galeotafiore was originally from Naples, Italy and immigrated to the United States at 19 years old. In the 70s and early 80s he was a pizza chef at many pizzerias in Brooklyn and in the New York City area. In 1983 “Danny” opened Danny’s Pizzeria located at 241 Bushwick Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11206. Danny has nearly 50 years of experience in the pizza industry and is one of the best in the business for authentic Brooklyn style pizza.
Our Family Recipes and Italian Heritage
Danny’s Pizzeria is owned and operated by both Durante and son Danny Galeotafiore. The menu focuses on old-school pies, pasta, calzones, sandwiches, and wings, all reflecting true New York–Italian style. Recipes passed down from family traditions are still used today- (such as our home-made lasagna). Located near the Montrose Ave L train station, Danny’s has become a spot where neighbors, families, and friends gather to enjoy authentic Brooklyn style pizza and Italian food.
